Auto Safety Recalls..
What is the best way to handle
All of us get these safety recall notices that let's us know the potential danger we may face if our vehicle fails to break, steer or something goes wrong with the electrical system. It is very important to understand why we got the notice and what needs to be repaired. Carfax found out that 2.7 million vehicles that we for sale online still had open recall notices. Basically the owners of those vehicles did not bother to go to the dealership and get the potential hazard fixed. The worst states for open recalls currently are California, Texas and Florida with over 100,000 open recalls in each state. It sure sounds like a bunch of ignorance out in the marketplace for private owners not caring to check for recalls on the vehicles they're selling.
What can you do?
The first thing when buying a used car is to go to Carfax.com or AutoCheck.com and run a vehicle history report on the vehicle you're considering to purchase. If you see an open recall make sure the dealer or private owner fixes the issue before you purchase. Why should you have to deal with problems the minute you buy the vehicle, right? I have seen a alot of lemon letters, junk letters and scrap letters around vehicles from people who want help and advise.
The best advise I can give you...BE PREPARED and WISE when purchasing a vehicle; uncover everything and then feel good about your purchase!
